Microsoft vs. Ford

vet ikke om denne har vært oppe før men:

 

Bill Gates once said in an interview that "if Ford had the same technological development as the computer industry, we would have cars costing $25 that would go 1000 miles on a gallon of gas"

 

Ford later commented this statement, and said if they had developed cars the same way Microsoft develop software, it would be like this:

 

 

1. Your car would have an unexplainable accident every day.

 

 

2. Every time the roadsigns was changed, you would have to buy a new car.

 

 

3. Sometimes the car would run off the road for no reason, You would just have to accept this, start the car again, and drive back up onto the road.

 

 

4. Sometimes, ie. in a left hand turn, the car would just go straight ahead. To fix this, simply change the engine.

 

 

5. The cars would only be delivered with one seat, and you would have to choose between "Car98" and "CarXP". Every additional seat would cost extra.

 

 

6. The competitors would make cars that run on solar energy, was 5 times faster, 2 times lighter but they would only be able to use 5% of the road.

 

 

7. The gauges for temperature, battery and oil would be changed with a single gauge: "General Condition"

 

 

8. All the seats would be made so that every passenger would need to be the same weight and lenght.

 

 

9. The airbag would ask "are you sure?" before opening.

 

 

10. Sometimes the car would completely stall. To fix this you would have to pull the door-handle while having one hand on the antenna and turning the key to the right.

 

 

11. Ford would force you to buy a map from Ford Rallye Sport with every car. If you did not want this, the car would go 50% slower.

 

 

12. Everytime Ford developed a new model, all drivers need to learn how to drive all over again, because no controls is the same as the previous model.

 

 

13. Finally, you would have to press "Start" to stop the engine...
