The Rallye gulf is a prototype, which was given to 1992 by the research and development of the Volkswagens AG in order.

The vehicle was built at the company Schmidt in Cardolzburg with Nuernberg, which already manufactured Rallyefahrzeuge for AUDI.
On the north loop of the Nuerburgringes the gulf completed A59 over 20,000 kilometers.
Walter Roehrl drove the Volkswagens to to his power limits.
All involved ones were inspired by the road performances and the handling prototypes on gulf basis.
Some Volkswagen dealers demanded the production extreme Rallye gulf,
for which with a volume of 2500 units a selling price of 80.000 DM was angedacht.
The project was however stopped. Nevertheless:
The Rallye gulf A59 is until today the strongest gulf of all times; apart from the twin-engine "spades it peak" once.
