Right mad few days. Painted all the rear hub assembly just need to get it all pressed back together. I ended up making my own brackets for the axle as the ones on there just werent right. So i added some welding pics and pics of how i set up to get the correct angle. Some of my intercooler pipes turned up today aswell. The front is now on the floor and the rear axle is located on the car onlny 2 watt bars left now. And just to prove the sun does exist in wales a couple of pics of the car out!!! Wheels on the floor first time since june/july 09!!! Adam

Been slowly getting stuff done aswell as just buying parts. Doing little bits like painted disk bells and welding up my coilovers and test fitting. Got lots of shiny bits in my toolbox too!!!! Adam

Trial fittedtoday very happy with the results. Can get car the same height as white car but with same travel on the damper as a standard 300!!! Cannot wait to get this on the road!!! Test fitted my housemates Advans to the car aswell, look kinda cool and the jap boys would hate me using these rare wheels!!!! Oh and engine plans have changed. Fill you in when log book comes back. Adam

Well due to other commitments etc time recently on this car has been getting thin. Although i have been having some components made in the background, so i picked them up earlier and spent a bit of time on the car. Firstly i fitted the longer studs to the front hubs which is dead easy, more of a pain on the back!! The studs are around 30mm longer. Drilled hubs out to 14mm to accept the impreza studs. Then used a flanged nut and a steel spacer to wind the studs in. Next i picked up my suspension components!! The problem with sitting a 300 on its arse on the front with standard rolling diameter wheels is that it ends up being sat on its bump stops with no travel, so my solution is as follows!!!! Test fit tommorow. Adam

Due to weather and other commitments work has been slow on the grey car up until now where it should speed up a fair bit. Been working on my front brakes the last couple of days. Adam

I have had a spare day on LFE so got round to doing more work on the axle, it turned out the top bars were not compatible in the location they sat in, and i had no movement for travel at the ride height i wanted so i sorted that with shorter brackets. The other ballache i had was that all coilover brackets i can find for sale were not wide enough for my spax, so i widened some to fit, then to keep teh correct shocker position i had to notch them to fit the axle and gusset them to give their strength back. The axle is now free floating and hanging under its own weight on the coilovers. The cossie disks have also been drilled to suit the volvo stud pattern. Some goodies also arrived for me in the post. Enjoy. Adam

Finished the bias box today, very pleased with the outcome, just need to remake pivot to get a smoother movement on the cylinders. I boxed the top of the box in to give strength on the pivot mounting, but i needed the balance bar to be accesable so on the bottom i braced the corners, and because i'm a bit of a tart at making things look good i rounded them.... Adam

Due to the crap weather i have been making my bias pedal box for the car and testing my new drill out!!! Its turned out well and will act as a bolt in replacement for the servo and MC assembly. All that is left to do is make the pivot assembly on the top of the box and brace the bottom. Anyway will let pics do the talking. Adam

Well even though the weather pissed me around i still got a fair done. I trial fitted my Selholm Quickshift and its lovely, unfortunately there is no gearbox in the car currently. I also had trial fitment no 1 of the rear end. It looks awesome and should improve the handling no end. Adam

Not much done today due to weather, did get the pivot finished though, just needs a spacer made up and a longer bolt. Adam

Right today i made the 2 new upper arms for the 4 link and machined a tube up to take the centre pivot bolt for the watts linkage, and welded it into the beam. I also made up the two plates that will make the pivot for the watts linkage. Enjoy... Adam

Right this week i'm off work to spend some time on LFE and fianlly get her back on the road. I am on suspension first and got a lot done today after my new welding mask turned up. By end of the week i want to have lowered car back onto its rear wheels as its currently sat on axle stands. Anyways let pics do the talking. Adam

Well its about that time where the 340R gets an update, since i have had the car this will be its 3rd Evolution of major mods, hence EVO 3 lol Engine build thread http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6017 Accident repair thread http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6957 Basic plans are coilovers all round with Rosejointed 6link rear suspension including a watts link setup New brakes including a bias peddle box with 280mm drilled and grooved vented front disks and same spec 273mm rears All inner arches will be stripped back to bare metal etched and re stonechipped Rebuilt gearbox with quickshift (LSD in Pipeline and very close....) And a stronger Engine build with Vernier pullies, Cams and Remap And oversize inlet valves So once the white car is on the road it all will begin properly, original plans are to get it all turned around for PPC in the park but its going to be stupidly tight.... Fingers crossed So anyways some teaser shots to keep you all going..... Enjoy Adam

Right well a bit about myself i have grown up with Volvos from an early age, i am now 20 years old and this 340 is my first car, It started off as a stock looking 1.4 car which i bought for £127 with a collapsed front strut. Anyways much changes later it now has a 2000cc 16V williams clio engine in the car with ported and polished head, and manifolds. and chipped ECU, car has a 2.5" downpipe and a 2" exhaust system which exits in front of the rear wheels. The car is approx 175BHP at the moment on stanadard Camshafts and will keep up with Skidracer's MK4 NA Toyota Supra. I have made my own brake setup on the car and fitted rear disks with sierra Calipers and the front upgraded to 280mm vented disks with Impreza Turbo calipers. I have built my own coilovers for the front suspension using 200sx top mounts and toyota MR2 inserts. The rear has adjustable spax dampers and has been dropped 40mm. Various Cosmetic changes have been made to the car including the compomotives and factory front spoiler and side skirts. All work has been carried out by myself. Adam How it started How it looks now Some build pics Old New Redrilled top mounts Top mount trial fitting You can see the small part needed to be taken out in this pic, just. Look to the top of the slider bolts. Fitted. Ports Old cover New Cover Manifold still to be modded.
