Hello northern friends, how are you? This is Dimitris, old opels' rwd fan, ascona owner and also old fan of good norwegian black metal (helvete! Mayhem rulz)

she's raced anything that goes around, from genuine manta 400 to ferrari and has made many opponents cry ;)

She's 2.5 litre with 5 angle cut and oversize valves, camshaft, wiseco pistons, and lighter piston rods, as well as lighter crank ;)

 

wears a 4-gear gearbox and a 9:31 diff as well as 2x48 dcoe webs! The trophies you can see are only a tiny part of his collection ;)

I think she's about 230 ps and has a very bright history ;)

I didn't see the GT, but i catched the black Manta A with 13" and balloon tires. I'll have to check in to this thread later.

 

Maybe the norwegian Opel Motorsport (joke: Opel Motorstopp(Engine breakdown)) Club does a roadtrip instead of charter flight to Crete this summer? hehe..

The erlier president of OpelMotorsportClub here i Norway was on a trip to kreta i a few years ago, and that resulted in a articel about a ascona b in the club magasine.

please do! I know EVERYONE who has a well-made ascona or old rwd opel here in Kreta! (or at least ALMOST everyone)

The GT? here it is my friend, along with a few other pics ;)

It belongs to my good friend ARGYRIS who lives in Athens and it is a 2200 CIH injection with Bosch Motronic on it and 40% LSD (I think it's 40). The Rekord C Coupe (Commodore) that you see next to it in some pics, is his father's, mr Panayiotis. Also 2200 injection with suspensions adjusting their height manually, by a do-it-yourself custom hydraulic system that the man has created. Both cars are just super-sexy! :D

Yeah, we got old records too, not that many, but hey, we've got a few! I'll find a few more pics and put'em in here :D

 

And yeah, like somebody said before (in another thread), we definitely aren't into this pug-rallye-saxo-crap mood. We've got loads of friend with those wheelie buckets, but hey, we love them the way they are, even though they don't know much about cars :D

aiai...thats a lot of pics. It looks like there's a lot av 4 door ascona on Crete. Here in Norway, I belive it's mostly 2 door asconas left on the roads.

Yeah, although we mostly are after 2-door ones! My next car is a 2d ascona and I also intend to buy a manta :)

Hello.. This was really fun to read.. I've been about 10 times on Crete, many times in rethymnon, agias nicolaos, an last summer inn hersonissos.

But i dont ses much old rwd Opel, just new one's. But one time i saw a Black Manta B targa inn rethymnon, it was really nice..

 

Next time im going til Crete, it had be fun to look at your cars..

I repeat: MAJORITY OF CARS I HAVE PRESENTED HERE ARE NOT FROM CRETE. ALL OPEL-CLUB.GR MEMBERS IN CRETE ARE IN TOTAL ABOUT 100, ONLY A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF THEM (PERHAPS 15) OWN RWD OPELS!

 

Others are mainly from Athens, unless otherwise stated :)

 

As far as I remember, our club members are:

 

2 Asconas, 1 Kadett c coupe gt/e in Chania

6 Asconas, 1 Manta, 2 Kadetts in Heraklion

3 Asconas in Sitia

 

so.. NOT MANY! :(

 

And keep in mind, I am only talking about our MEMBERS. Outside our club there's a few still around, but not many again... And mainly they're all stock, not tuned, rebuilded or anything... Only our members have tuned cars, because all tuned cars are mainly in our club ;)
